What are "Long Fat Networks"?
The network with large bandwidth and long delay.
ex. High-capacity satellite channels

TCP performance
TCP performance is calculated by windowsize and  RTT.

Required windowsize for networks.
                 Required Windowsize = Round-Trip Time × Maximum Transfer Rate of the network.

But Maximum window size is limited to 65,535.
The window size in TCP header has only 16 bits.
